Whether you’re an employee who has worked your way from the bottom of the corporate ladder or a business owner, you’re now at a position where your company reimburses you for all your business-related expenses while in Singapore and on overseas work trips.
Sounds great, but are you making the most of it?
If you use the right credit card, you will be able to extract more value from these expenses. This may include miles, limousine transfers, concierge services, airport lounges, hotel upgrades, and more. Using a platform like CardUp will allow you to use your credit cards for even more payments – the payment platform allows you to make credit card payments even to recipients that don’t accept cards. These include your supplier invoices, rental payments and even employee payroll. Your recipients also do not have to be registered with CardUp to receive your payments, making it even easier for you to rack up those miles on these large, recurring expenses!
Let’s take a look at which credit cards in Singapore will give you, a high-flying executive, benefits that will appeal to your lifestyle
UOB PRVI Miles Visa Card
If you are most concerned about miles and you get to pay for your airfare and accommodation first before reimbursing them, the UOB PRVI Miles Card is ideal for you. The high earning rates for miles locally and overseas, as well as the potential to earn accelerated miles when you book with UOB’s travel partners, can mean you get your free flights quicker.
Citi Prestige Card
The Citi Prestige Card comes with travel benefits that will make your overall experience quite comfortable. This includes airport lounge access, limousine transfers, etc. It also offers a decent amount of miles per dollar spent, although it’s not the best among the cards compared.
Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card
This card offers the second-best miles to dollar returns but falls short when other travel benefits are concerned. For instance, you will not get the benefit of taking a limousine to the airport. Also, you can only access the airport lounge 6 times per year, and that too, only for yourself.
HSBC Visa Infinite Card
The only drawback of the HSBC Visa Infinite Card is that it does not offer the best miles to dollar returns. However, if you’re already stressed about your business trip and want to sit back and have everything from A to Z taken care of, this card will do it for you. HSBC itself offers the dedicated concierge service, instead of a third party arrangement.
It offers the most number of complimentary limousine airport transfers. The expedited immigration clearance usually offered by invitation-only cards is a value-added service here. The insurance coverage is the highest, at up to 2 million US dollars. To top it off, you get unlimited access to VIP lounges, for both principal and supplementary credit cards.
Is there a best credit card?
Any of these cards are good and you might find one that is more suitable for you. The point is, if you’re spending a lot or travelling often on your company’s expense, do what you can to extract more value out of those spends. If it’s a big company trip that is going to cost a lot, you might even want to consider applying for a credit card to take advantage of the sign-up bonuses!
